The rules of the room
What this is
Velosiren is a public conversation where security people talk about the fights they are actually in. Anyone on the internet can read it. Only people who joined can write.
Your words are yours
What you write stays yours. By posting, you let us show it to the world under your street name, for as long as it stays up. You can delete any message you wrote, and deleting your account takes everything of yours with it.
The rules of the room
Do not write anything that could identify you or someone else, name the company you work for, or give an attacker a recipe. No accusations against named parties. No credentials, no leaked data, no spam, no abuse.
A safety model reads every message right after it posts and removes what breaks these rules. People can also report anything that slips past.
When a rule breaks
The message comes down and its author is told why. Repeat offenders lose their account. We can remove anything on the site at our discretion, and we will act on a court order or a regulator's instruction as we must.
What we will not promise
Treat every post as one person's account of the fight, not gospel. We will not promise that everything here is true, that any advice will keep you safe, or that anonymity can never be broken by someone with enough determination. Check anything you find here against your own world before you act on it. What we promise is how the machine works: your work address is never kept, your contact email is encrypted, and nothing here links a person to what they wrote beyond their street name.
This page states how the site works and what we ask of you. It is not legal advice and needs a lawyer’s review before launch, like the privacy policy.
